My Uncle

So I have to lead off with this; my family structure is all fucked up, lol. It is almost a Jerry Springer episode on acid. There are so many dark secrets and rifts that you'd think you were in the 1800s. I know some families have it way harder, I'm looking at you Kennedy family. We all have those family members that we miss, dead or alive, for one reason or another. The one person I miss the most, and who is very much alive, is my uncle. See, he's not like any other uncle, you know, the creepy one that hits on underage girls and makes derogatory remarks under his breath. No, he's the badass one who introduces you to fucking awesome music and how to jump the biggest fucking ramp on your BMX in Rocky Point, NY, ever! There was a time when he had no worries. Nothing bothered him. He went about his life happy, constantly surrounded by his friends. He was always on the move and doing things that he enjoyed, like being outside in nature. Nothing would've changed, not that he ever imagined that it would. Life, though, is a fickle bitch, and how can one frolic through it always happy. Some do it, or is it an illusion? It is always shown to be satisfied, but behind closed doors, that sorrow seeps in, slowly covering them like a blanket.  His life, though, was once one of happiness, but of course, one way or the other, he sabotages it in some way. A word spoken to a loved one or no words spoken when needed. A wrong path chosen or an approach given up on because it seemed too difficult to achieve or accomplish. He will never know.
